RightShip Inspection Ship Questionnaire (RISQ)
Arguably the most comprehensive inspections tool in dry bulk
In 2021, RightShip implemented an expanded inspections questionnaire. Importantly, the expanded questionnaire focused on several different vessel types and was designed to deliver an improved inspection result.
A guide to inspection is provided for many of the questions in the the questionnaire, which will assist shipowners and managers in understanding industry expectations. It will also aid the inspector when answering the questions and completing the inspection report.
In July 2022, we updated and revised RISQ in response to industry comments, and in accordance with the most recent industry recommendations and regulations. RISQ 2.0 will be implemented for inspections taking place after 30 September 2022. Please refer to Annex B of the document, where specific revisions to RISQ 2.0 are outlined.

What’s in the Questionnaire
The questionnaire has been expanded to include more vessel type specifics, making it the most comprehensive inspections reporting tool in the dry bulk sector. The expanded scope of inspections covers statutory items as well as recommended and desirable items with reference to IMO, ISO, ILO, OCIMF, ICS, P&I Loss Prevention Bulletins, maritime publications and industry codes of practice.
